Meet our Manystones Toad

Wendy was in her garden enjoying the sunshine and writing her first book. Suddenly Wendy saw a Toad wandering towards her on the lawn and she watched to see where he was going?
He proceeded to climb into Wendy's kitchen, so Wendy gently picked him up and put him back on the lawn and closed the door. Wendy videoed him and saw that he wasn’t giving up that easily! He tried again and finally gave up and wandered off towards the garden wall.
What was he doing?
Wendy thought about him for a while and thought that he could be looking for the road to find some friends as there was a boggy area in the next field just across the road where Wendy had seen many Toads wandering towards over the years. This inspired Wendy to quickly jot down a few notes about Toad and then went back to her first book writing.
Inspiration
After publishing her first book in October 2022, Wendy started straight away to work on Toad’s story and was surprised to realise that she now had a desire to write more books for Children to enjoy and she realised that she could provide friends for Toad with her animals from the first book and that’s how “The Toad who couldn’t find the road!” began.
